Mission, Role, and Functions

Guided by our mission of “Independence and Self-Reliance”, Shinshu Honan College promotes the educational philosphy of fostering individuals who give back to society. We place Humanistic Education at the core of our teaching and learning affairs, and strive to nurture individuals who can contribute to the growth of the local community.
The college offers two programs, the Early Childhood Education Program and the Language and Communication Program. Our goal is to develop professionals who will contribute to the future of the local region as local business leaders, public servants, and childcare specialists, helping to build a community where people can raise children with confidence and support.
In order to cultivate individuals who can play active roles in the community, it is essential that they fully understand the community itself. For this purpose, Shinshu Honan College engages in a wide variety of regional contribution activities that fully utilize its educational resources.
